As a community we need to continue and amplify the conversation around racial injustices.
This week we were joined by Author, Advocate and Mamma, Anna Malaika Tubbs to discuss the challenges mothers face raising black children in the current climate.
Anna shares her experience growing up bi-racial and the role her parents played in her story, and how that shaped her determination and strength as a woman.
Anna’s new book ‘Three Mothers’ tells the story of three strong, independent and loving black mothers who raised the revolutionist that became James Baldwin, Martin Luther King Jr and Malcom X. Not only did they raise sons that lead a revolution but they themselves demanded and ignited change in society.
As mothers it’s our responsibility to educate our children on race; and that starts with ourselves. As human beings it is our responsibility to treat all human life with respect and dignity.
